Session 2 – Visualising Design Value

The second day of the programme was based in Nottingham where the sun was shining over our Lace Market office. We began with a ‘brief’ feedback session on Oliver’s recent trip around Iceland; much helped by his photographer-friend’s stunning shots of the dramatic Volcanic isle which can be viewed here: Iceland snaps

The day progressed with a trip to the Nottingham Contemporary for a an analysis of space and urban integration. A large table in the gallery’s cafe space proved suitable to introduce discussions on the topic of design value. In advance of our second meet, we each prepared a conceptual physical detail exploring the ways in which we each perceive Purcell’s key design values. The following posts document the process of design and make, the finished pieces and our drawn reactions to each others’ details.
